Theological Papers

On this page I wanted to post a few theological papers that I've presented.  They are of topics that I felt keenly to write about for different reasons over the past few years.  I hope that they are a blessing.  Just click on the title; all of the papers are in PDF format.

The Lord is One - This paper was published in the Journal of the Apostolic Theological Forum (ATF) a few years ago.  It evolved from a Bible study I was teaching at Cornerstone Pentecostal Church regarding the Oneness of God.  It presents a brief study on the Hebrew "Shema" of Deuteronomy 6:4 in light of traditional Jewish scholarship.  It is not a lengthy, nor a detailed paper - and was not originally meant for publication in this august journal.  The truth of the absolute Oneness of our Lord as an indivisible God is an indespensible truth.  Jesus Christ is that very same eternal God, manifest in flesh.  Jesus said, "Except ye believe that I am, ye shall die in your sins."   I hope that you enjoy this paper as it brings out the fact that this wonderful Lord of ours is indivisibly One.

An Examination of the Use of the Spiritual Gifts of Tongues and Interpretation of Tongues - This was presented in Fort Worth, TX in 2009 at the ATF.  It presents what I believe to be a biblically sound examination of the use of the gifts of tongues and interpretation of tongues.  It will present a view that is not common among American Apostolics, but I hope that you will give it a read.   The paper also presents a view that the spiritual gifts are needed in the church for the church to be healthy, and to be the church that the Lord designed us to be.  The spiritual gifts are in the church until He returns for us and calls us out of this world.

Yirat Shamayim: A Call for the Revival of the Doctrine of the Fear of the Lord - This paper was written out of an inescapable passion.  I hope that you sense the passion that I felt in writing this paper as you read it.  When I knew that I was to present a paper in Texas in 2011, I could not get away from the thought that we need a revival of the fear of the Lord in our midst - and a revival of the DOCTRINE of the fear of the Lord.  You will see what I mean when you read it.

On the Sanctity of Human Life -  I presented this paper at the ATF in January 2012 in Albany, Georgia.  It was updated following the presentation at the symposium and really needs to be expanded upon.  This is more that just a theological topic - for an assault on the Judeo-Christian ethic of the sanctity of human life is under way - and it threatens all of us.  This paper is a call for ministry to sound out regarding things that seriously affect all of us.  If you are a pastor, looking at this page, I hope that you will download this paper, read it, and send it to every other pastor you know.   It's lengthy, but the topic is too vital to ignore.

The  Man, Christ Jesus, in His Role as Judge in the Consummation of All Things - This paper was written for a Oneness Seminar conducted at Alamo City Apostolic Church in San Antonio, TX is October 2012 as part of the church anniversary celebration.  I wrote this by request to cover a topic that I have long thought needed some light shed upon it.  You will immediately see that this paper was written quickly and needs some more time to make it flow and present better - but I hope that it still gets the points across.
